Amy Bland, MS/CCC-SLP
Founder & Owner, Adult SLP

Amy Bland is the founder, owner and president of Phoenix Speech Therapy, LLC, now doing business as Phoenix Therapies+ in Forest Hill, MD. Amy began in 2019 as the sole provider, and has since grown a multi-disciplinary team that serves all ages in her Forest Hill clinic, off-site daycares, preschools, private schools, assisted living facilities, adult day centers, and virtually.

Amy is an ASHA certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist (in MD and PA) with over 19 years of comprehensive expertise, including acute care, the outpatient clinic at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, and sub-acute and long-term care facilities, prior to founding and operating Phoenix Speech Therapy. Amy has worked extensively with adults and teenagers with ADHD and post concussive syndrome to address organization, planning, time management, and task initiation. She directed the interdisciplinary concussion team and was a driving force in the development of the outpatient voice programs at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health.

Amy graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McDaniel College (formerly known as Western Maryland College), and earned her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Loyola University in Maryland. She is certified in LSVT LOUD® (a program designed specifically for people with Parkinson’s disease), and trained in FEES (fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing), laryngeal videostroboscopy, myofascial release, and Buteyko breathing. Amy is also proud to have served as a clinical instructor for the graduate speech language pathology program at the Loyola University Clinical Centers for the voice and fluency rotation for 2 years.

Amy specializes in executive function coaching related to ADHD, ADD, and/or concussion for students in middle school, high school, college, and adults. She also specializes in voice rehabilitation, including vocal cord dysfunction and remediation of hoarseness. She serves as Vice President on the executive board of GAIN (Geriatric Assistance Information Network) and is an active event sponsor in her community.

 

Adult Speech Language Pathologists

Beth Lopez, MS/CF-SLP
Adult SLP

Beth Lopez is a clinical fellow speech language pathologist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology in 2021 and completed her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology in 2023, both from Towson University.

Beth has an interest in aphasia, cognitive communication disorders, swallowing, and is a certified LSVT Loud specialist.

Yelana Slavov, MS/CCC-SLP
Adult & Pediatric SLP

Yelana Slavov is a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist with over 15 years of experience treating both adults and children (both pre-school and school-age). Her therapy approach is functional, dynamic, and targeted to produce the highest outcomes for each individual.

Yelena’s adult patient expertise incudes the diagnosis and treatment of aphasia, dysarthria, dysphagia, voice and neurocognitive disorders from her time in acute care and rehabilitation hospital settings.

With a focus on early intervention in both public schools and private practice, Yelana’s experience treating children has included the treatment of disorders related to apraxia, receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation, phonological processing, oral-motor functioning disorders, fluency, and pragmatic language disorders.

Yelana graduated with her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Towson University.

Caroline Antinozzi, MS/CCC-SLP
Adult SLP

Caroline Antinozzi is a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist (in MD and NY) with over 6 years of expertise treating adult/geriatric populations in various sub-acute and long term care facilities. Caroline is a Certified McNeill Dysphagia therapy provider and has treated adults with dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-communication deficits, dysarthria, and voice disorders.

Caroline graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University, and earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University.

 

Pediatric Speech Language Pathologists

Hayley Sparr, MS/CCC-SLP
Pediatric SLP

Hayley Sparr is a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist with over 5 years of expertise treating children from birth to 21 years of age with varying needs and abilities in the clinic and non-public school settings.

Hayley graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University. After time spent as a Montessori School teacher, Hayley went on to earn her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Loyola University in Maryland.

Hayley’s particular interests and experience include early intervention, literacy challenges, articulation and language disorders, and augmentative and alternative communication.

Dana Katzenberger, MA/CCC-SLP
Pediatric SLP

Dana Katzenberger is a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist with over 4 years of experience treating children ages 3-12 with varying needs in the public school system.

Dana graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology in 2017 from Towson University. She earned her Master of Art in Speech Language Pathology from University of Delaware in 2019.

Dana’s particular interests include articulation and phonological disorders, as well as augmentative and alternative communication.

Kara Rodano, MS/CCC-SLP
Pediatric & Adult SLP

Kara Rodano is a certified and licensed speech language pathologist with over 4 years of experience working with adolescents in a non-public school setting. Kara also has treated children with acquired brain injuries such as concussions, in pediatric rehabilitation.

Kara earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Northeastern University in Boston.

Kara is passionate about supporting language development, neurodiversity, family involvement, and self-advocacy skills.

Lacey Rupp, MS/CF-SLP
Pediatric SLP

Lacey Rupp is a clinical fellow speech language pathologist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology in 2021 and completed her Master of science in Speech Language Pathology in 2023, both from Towson University.

She is academically and clinically trained with pediatric populations of varying communication abilities in both outpatient clinics and public and non-public school settings.

Lacey's particular interest include early intervention, literacy, autism spectrum disorder, and augmentative and alternative communication.

Julia Heim, MS/CCC-SLP
Pediatric SLP

Julia Heim is a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist in Maryland with over 3 years of experience treating children ages birth-21 with varying needs and abilities in hospital, clinic, and non-public school settings.

Julia graduated from Towson University with both her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology and Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology. Additionally, Julia is certified in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).

Julia's particular areas of interest and experience include pediatric feeding and swallowing, articulation and language disorders, augmentative and alternative communication, and autism spectrum disorder.

 

Pediatric Occupational Therapists

Shelby Wimbrough OTR/L
Pediatric OT

Shelby Wimbrough is a certified and registered Occupational Therapist with 7 years of experience working with the pediatric population. Before joining Phoenix Therapies+ she worked at a non-public school and within an outpatient clinic.

Shelby graduated from Salisbury University with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science Allied Health, and Towson University with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She also holds an advanced certification from the University of Southern California in Sensory Integration.

Shelby’s areas of interest include fine motor skills, picky eating, and self-care skills.

Kelli Adcock, MOT, OTR/L
Pediatric OT

Kelli Adcock is a certified and registered Occupational Therapist with 10 years of experience working with the pediatric population. In addition to joining Phoenix Therapies+ she is a school-based therapist, with a primary focus on autism and profound cognitive delays with kids aged 5-21 years old. She also has experience working with children who are nonverbal and/or have behavioral needs.

Kelli graduated from University of Delaware with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Statistics minor. She received her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Pittsburgh.

Kelli particularly enjoys working with kids and their families to support the development of fine and visual motor skills, and making recommendations for home modifications that support independence.

Education Advocate

Lauren Ey, M.Ed
Education Advocate & Tutor

Lauren Ey is a certified and licensed Special Educator (in MD, VA, and CT) with over 5 years of experience teaching children ages 3-12 with varying needs and abilities, as well as managing and advocating for students and families in the public education system. 

Lauren graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in General and Special Education from Old Dominion University where she was also a student athlete playing Division 1 Lacrosse. Lauren went on to earn her Master of Education in Curriculum Design and Instruction at Post University. Lauren is also certified in Orton-Gillingham Plus, a sought-after literacy approach for adolescents with dyslexia (grades 3 and up).

Lauren’s particular interests and experience include early intervention, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD/ADD, developmental delays, speech and language delays, behavior intervention, and educational evaluations.
